EAST COAST BIAS!

Happy Holidays everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas, I can say I had a great Christmas couldn't have been any better. Well it could have the Rebels could have won the diamond head classic. Anyway whats really bothered me these last four weeks the east coast bias in the polls. I'm not only talking about just UNLV I'm talking about everything.

First of all TCU and Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl is the saddest thing I have ever been witness too. This is sad to think that the BCS and the "Higerarchy" is what I like to call them, don't want to let these guys play anyone that could cause and argument for a playoff. Why is that? Your so afraid for this equality in sports. You know there are team past the ROCKY MOUNTAINS right? Good teams too!

What also bugs me is why don't you guys ever watch a West coast game. Here's an example. Georgetown. Very good team probably in the top five in the big east. Not top three but in there. They lost to Old Dominion. Its one loss to a team not receiving any votes. Georgetown went from 12th in the nation to 13th in the nation in the AP poll. UNLV ranked #19th in the AP plays Kansas State and loses. UNLV drops out of the AP to #29. How do we drop ten spots in the field, to a team that is now #12 in the nation. G'town drops one spot to a team probably not making the tourney. Wake up if you have a vote and actually watch these west cost teams play. You only read what is on paper for these teams. New Mexico gets a pass because they have a Bob Knight disciple coaching there team. Texas Tech gets a pass as well because they are coached by a Knight.

Its not fair these teams get screwed over. Its true to believe that the AP poll means nothing anymore. These writers should just split up the polls and have an EAST/WEST poll. Only team that ever gets real love is USC football. Sure you rank TCU and Boise in the top ten but whats that matter if these bowls are picked off a computer that is run by money. Give these kids a chance to play a team they never get to play. Flordia should have played Boise State and TCU should have played Iowa. Both teams would have been dogs in the game.

I said it the other day talking to my buddies there are some serious players on the west coast. UNLV have some great players. San Diego State, USC, Arizona, St. Mary's all have talented players but if there not on ESPN or CBS because of TV deals with there conferences there never going to see these kids. 3 teams from the west cost have won the NCAA championship in the last 20 yrs. That's sad. They get no love and its so different from 30 yrs when it was Indiana, Georgetown, Kansas, Duke and UNC being in the final four all the time. Look at football. Miami, Flordia, Penn St, Michigan, and Ohio St get all the love. USC just started to show they deserve respect because they went to 7 straight BSC bowl games and that's only because they are in the PAC 10. There needs to be some love for these other schools. If your not considered a BCS school you get no help. Why isnt the MWC a BSC conference? They have had a team in a BSC bowl the last 4 years.

If I were to do the bracketology the pac 10 would be lucky to get two teams whens other divisions deserve more teams.

Shout outs to Doug Gottlieb love that guy! Dont let they hate for the CC thing man. Also Pacman take the test bro what do you have to hide!

Will someone watch Oscar Bellfields diet? Hes tweeting about all this food that might make him 400lbs.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

REBELS, TIGER AND THE UFC!

Whats up everyone! What a college basketball season we have right now on our hands. Let me tell you something. These Rebels are good. I don't care what you say about the Kansas State game. These guys are good. K-State shot 67% from the floor in the second half. They made 14 three pointers to our four. Its a hot team we ran into and we might see them again in the tourney. What I have a problem with is today's rankings. New Mexico just jumps into the #19 spot. Seriously look at there schedule. Texas A&M was the best team they have played. Sure home games are easy to win. If we played Arizona and Kansas State in the MACK we win easily. We have a good solid schedule coming up with games against Weber State, SMU and possibly Hawaii and St Marys before jumping right into BYU and New Mexico in conference.

This team loses 5 games all year we will get a good seed and be fine in the tourney. We have a great team we are still learning to play together. Anyone who thinks after that loss its over. No chance. Check out tomorrows game at SUU. We will get a good win and back into the groove. I would like a 13-1 non conference record but. I remember one year when CLEMSON was 17-0 and they just tanked it. So losses like these are good to learn from.

These stupid sports radio hosts in Phoenix that I listen to on the drive home everydayare idiots. They keep telling Tiger he needs to take a leave from golf. He did and its not going to be for long. Let me give you a time line you morons. The MASTERS in on Easter weekend. That's 16 weeks for him to get his crap taken care of and back on the course.

Here's the deal
Masters 8-11 April (hes finished in top 10 ten out of 15 yrs, winning four and twice played as amateur)
US Open : Pebble Beach 17-20 in June (tiger won by 15 strokes)
British Open: St Andrews 12-15 August (tigers won last two played here 05, 00)
PGA Championship: Whistling Straight (last time he played here finished fourth)

Oh yeah and every year he didn't win a major the next year he has won at least one.

Your telling me he is going to miss out on these tourneys? SHOOT even if he misses the Masters. Hes got seven months to get ready for Pebble where he can win in his sleep. Tiger's wife needs to divorce him because all she is going to do is bug him about what is going on in his life while hes on the road. He doesn't need that distraction anymore. Yeah what he did was wrong but people have done a lot worse and gotten away with it. I want to say Accentura is stupid for dropping Tiger. You will never get as much exposure without him in your tournament. I went last year to see his return and I wont be going this year if he isn't there. STUPID!!!!

Tiger will be fine.

Last is the UFC this weekend was amazing. Anyone who didn't see this one missed out. BJ Penn is a master of his craft at 155lbs. His domination of Diego Sanchez wasn't even fair. I have never seen any ones face look worse then his after this fight. That cut was ugly. BJ will probably fight Las Vegas own Gray Maynard for the title in the summer if he can get by Nate Diaz on January 11th. Frank Mir deserves to be the top heavyweight contender. If Brock doesn't come back in the next few month Dana White will probably do a tournament for top contender and interm title.

Thats whats on my mind!

Time to move on are we that bored!

So here we stand two weeks later after Tigers accident and apology and confession. Who are we to criticize? The guy likes women. Like most men do. Maybe not Frankie but that's a different story. I mean this is on CNN, MSNBC, Larry King, ESPN and every damn channel I turn to trying to watch television. Why are we so obsessed? He cheated on his wife, he admitted it and now we cant Stop talking about it. Why? Why are we so obsessed? Who cares. These girls that keep coming out one after one. You know what your going to be called? Your the girl that Tiger banged and that's all your ever going to be in life. Your never going to get anything out of him. The only girl who will get his money is his wife.

We need to leave this guy alone. He will be fine and it will all pass as soon as we find something else to talk about. So what! Now when you see Tiger your going to think he's a cheater. Big deal. Its his own personal demon. It doesn't mean he's a bad guy, doesn't mean any of us will stop watching him play. I just think most of you are shocked. Well let me give you a few names that come before Tiger.

KOBE
MJ
SIR CHARLES
BROADWAY JOE
RICK POTINO
JERRY JONES
MICHAEL IRVIN
MAGIC
WILT.... just to name a few.

These are guys we have all watched play and they have all done the same thing. They love women. Why is it so shocking when Tiger does it. Cuz all these dumb skanks are coming out and think they are going to get something out of it. All they get out of it is a label. WHORE. You are now known as the girls who slept with Tiger and from here on out that is all you'll be. If any of you think you were the one then why are there so many of you? PHAHAHHAHA. I can't stop laughing picturing you talk to your friends about how you slept with Tiger. You girls are now viewed as the Skanks of the adult world. You were probably the same in high school as well. Those who haven't said anything. I would agree your smart. I am in no way condoning cheating. Its stupid and you should never be with someone when you want to be with many others, but WHY are we throwing stones when I know there is SOME out there who have done it, but throw stones at Tiger to full fill there own gilt.

Would you people get with it. Focus on something important like UNLV #17 in the country or Helping out a person or a family who is sick for the Holidays? This will all go away in 6 months When I guarantee Tiger wins the Masters. You'll all forget about his sins and infidelities and talk about what he is know for, swinging the golf club. Just like you did when the names above did it.

WHO CARES!!!!

ON TO THE NEXT ONE...

Jokeim Noah you are the biggest cry baby! Your getting mad at Lebron for dancing and having a good time when he plays the BULLS because he owns you. Is it my imagination but when you were at Florida you did the same thing to teams like Tennessee and Vandy. If your felling froggy Noah then jump, but don't call out Bron Bron when you did they same shit! Cuz he will make you pay. I feel sorry for the Bomb hes going to drop on you when you play again.

I'd like to get my two sense in on the Bowl picks. The BCS is so afraid that a non BCS school will win the title one day that they won't even let them play against the BCS schools in the bowl games. Wonder why that is? UTAH domination of Alabama last year. Oh and the statue of liberty by Boise State against Oklahoma. So you make them play each other. TCU would murder Florida and Boise would stomp out Iowa in a bowl. Its sad that there is such an East Coast bias against western schools. I got news for you, its only going to get worse.

That whats on my mind.

WHAT HAPPEN TO TIGER!

This is my Verizon of what I think happen to Tiger. I'm gathering this from experience and the evidence from the car accident and stories published. In no way is this an account of what really happen but its probably pretty close, If I were to sit down with golfs greatest player and talk about it.

Tiger Woods got home from his trip to Australia, fresh of their masters win. He was sitting at home reading tweets from his blackberry, or catching up on emails when his wife Elin made a smart remark to him about the tabloids being published about him. (Now look any girl should know that when your a high profile athlete theres probably a chance they are not too faithful.) Tiger brushes off the remark like its nothing and keeps on checking his email. Next thing he knows he catches a toy car to the side of the head. Tiger gets up out of his chair to address why his wife is so angry.

She mad about the stories in which Tiger just keeps saying its nothing and to not worry about it. She wont let the thing go and keeps getting into Eldricks face. He's fed up with everything and cant take it anymore. He tries one more time to be nice and she starts threatening him. Like any normal person Tiger decides to leave the situation and let her cool off. As he walks out he catchers her right hook to the dome. A little in shock and disoriented. He takes off to the garage and hops in the caddy. Tiger trying to figure out what just happened and get his barrings before driving off. Realizes he doesn't have his shoes on and the car is in drive. Right as he realizes this he gets startled by a SMASH in the backseat and punches the gas. Losing control of the car and runs into the hydrant and tree. Tiger knocks his head on the window. This makes him a little dizzy and knocks him out for a second. Fearing for his life and seeing what happen to the car. Tiger lays in the street thinking this could be the end. His wife rushing to his side screaming.
He looks up at her then down on the ground and see she is holding his driver. Tiger says he loves her and tries to calm her down. This crazy chick bashed out the side window scaring the hell out of tiger making him crash into the tree. Tiger being the loving caring husband he is, decides to act quick. Fearing the embarrassment that he just got his ass kick by a chick, and that if the cops see his lips from what she did the mother of his children will go to jail.

They think of a story about how he lost control and crashed and she is the hero who saved him, when in reality she tried to hurt the guy and almost killed him in the car accident. What was she thinking. I know what he was thinking when the right hook came at him. "THIS GIRL IS PSYCHO!" I'm sure a golf club to the head hurts more then a hotel phone receiver but hey its all the same.

Tiger was acting to save his wife from being humiliated and from him being embarrassed but the situation. Do I think he should have come clean. No way. It is only a traffic accident. If he was to say me and my wife were having a fight like 99% of American couples do. He would be subject to all kinds of scrutiny from fans and writers as the golfer who fights with his wife. I would have done the same TIGER!

Thats what I think happened.

AROUND THE SPORTS WORLD!

Its been a little bit, sorry about that. Ive been in and out of town. This is a short week so hopefully on Sunday after my fifth helping of turkey for the week, ill sit down again and write something. There have been a lot of topics out there lately and I want to start with the coaches on the hot seat.

Charlie Wies is on the hot hot seat and it looks like he might be out the door. I don't know why, but I think he has done a great job there. I know they have a winning tradition, but whens the last time they had a coach longer then five years. Why don't we build on what we have first? UNLV gave Sanford five years and he didn't do anything with it. At least your going to bowl games and winning more than two games a season. It could be worse there at Norte Dame. You all forgetting how hard it is to get into school there. You standards were lower when you were winning.

Next is Rich Rodriguez. The guy is on the hot seat at Michigan for what? Taking over a program who didn't get there first or second choices and went with RICHROD on the aspect he would win right away. Give the guy a break its only year two and he hasn't lost to Appalachian State yet. He gets his guys in there I'm there will have better Michigan/Ohio State games. I think these guys both need a little more time.

On to the next one like my boy Jay Z says. Have you seen Brandon Jennings play yet? He's the kid who went overseas because he couldn't get into college. He makes great money and drives a ford flex. My mom drives a ford flex. He dropped 55 point a few weeks back and has been on fire all season. This may say something for him going overseas. He said he is not a high profile guy yet so he doesn't need any high profile merchandise yet and he wants to prove himself in this league. Smart for a kid who couldn't get into college. I think he is mature for his age and that might have been because he went overseas to play. He says its not for everyone and he didn't think he could do it if his mother wasn't there to help with support. Don't get any ideas high school players because you need to go to school.

Lots going on in football. I really didn't agree with my boy Ochocinco getting fined 20k for bribing the ref in good humor. What about Vince Young getting a high five from the ref? You gonna fine him? And whats with the whine bag coaches like Rex Ryan and Mangini? Get over it. Your teams suck and you cry about it. The Browns are terrible and should have lost to the better team in Detroit. Yeah the lions suck too but they are not that bad. Ryan needs to mind his own business because I'm sick of hearing about him every second on PTI.

Last is... watch my Rebs this weekend. Big games the next few days. Louisville and Arizona in the next 7 days. Big wins if we can get them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

BYE BYE MIKEY BOY!

Its finally happening. They man who has brought the program to its knees the past few seasons is gone. Mike Sanford was announced he will be FIRED dec 5th. If I were him, I would pack my shit and leave now. The team would fare better coaching themselves. This program needs a young flashy head coach, someone whose going to win the games we actually should win.

Sanford had the same locker room speech every game, nothing ever came out of it. He has had a chance to send this school to a bowl two years in a row and lost on the last games of the season to teams that should never have beaten UNLV. The Oregon State game set the tone for the whole season and its lucky we have the four wins we have. Hawaii is on a down year but will be back to the top soon. SDSU is on pace to make a bowl possibley. That's something. They were terrible last year never won a game until UNLV came along and they beat us. Colorado state lost 22 straight games until UNLV came into town and beat us. Lucky for New Mexico who broke our conference road losing streak. We were sold a lemon fans and that makes me very mad. Every other Urban Meyer disciple was successful, just look at Utah and BYU.

This was a joke of a hire. John Robinson's work was for nothing when we hired this guy. J Rob did what he needed to do then figured the program was where it needed to be to get going up. But that was all a huge fake out. Look what Charlie Spoonhour did. He took over a down program turned it around got some good players like Louis Amundson and put the program in the right direction. The Lon comes in an takes us to the next level. We didn't do this with football. We need a coach who is established again, someone who can put the wheels in motion then send it to a good coach who can take us to the next level. It very sad this just doesn't work for this program.

Ill give a you few names I would like to see here in Vegas. Tyrone Willingham, he has had some down years recently but he can coach and recruit and in this league. We just need to be competitive. Ill take 6-6 in a shitty bowl. I think any UNLV football fan would. I'm not looking to win National titles or get a BCS game that just ain't in the cards. But competitive, to where I can go watch UNLV play BYU or TCU and give them a game. I dont want to see a blow out. I have a better time following my high school team.

Now on to better things. Rebel basketball is back and from what I hear its too early to tell. Ill be in attendance at the Mac with Ms. OFMM checking out the boys this season. Ill have my predictions next week on how we look. Ill see UNR and Southern Illinois while I'm there so this should be a good test before the big boys like Louisville and Arizona come into play.

Last this week is all about the Pac Man. If you watched the fight you already know. This guy is something special. He started out as 112lbs flyweight. Now he is the welterweight champion at 140lbs. That is something. He made Cotto look like Peter Mcneally and he is one of the best fighter in the world. So that only leaves one question. What you got Money! If Floyd thinks hes the man its time to step up. Its time to schedule the fight that will make everyone involved millions. This could even put boxing on the map for a few months. I don't want to here the BS about money. Just throw a 50-50 split on everything and lets get to it. Call HBO get the 24/7 cameras out there and May 5th sounds like a good date to me. Floyd this fight will pay you everything and more that you can waste away the next five years. Manny you can buy the Philippines with this type of check. Let see it. I think its time to see the best fighters of their sport for the past 10 years go at it.

That whats on my mind.

20th anniversy of 1990 CHAMPS!

I'm watching direct TV the other night and caught this show on Larry Johnson on the MSG channel. It was about his career as a Knick and everyone he played with said he was the best teammate ever. No one knows how great he was unless they were around him all the time. Larry was a great player, probably the greatest REBEL of all time. Which get me to thinking with the 20th anniversary on the 10th of this month. Who is your top 10 rebels of the last 20 years. I say the last 20 because I wasn't around for Reggie Thues and Danny Tark. Great players definitely on the all time list but not in my era. Here are my top 10 players and why.

10. Kaz Kambala. He was the big man in the middle that reminded me a lot of Larry Johnson. He was so dominate and led the Rebs to an amazing run through the WAC tourney and on to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1991. Kaz never made it as a pro in the states but was considered the Turkish Shaq over seas. He is now pursuing a boxing career.

9. Greg Anthony. He was the definition of point guard. He would pass first shoot second. He ran the team and if it wasn't for fouling out in 1991 semifinal there might be two banners hanging in the T&M. Greg was a Vegas kid who led his home town team to a National Championship. Greg had a great NBA career and was one of three players taken in the lottery. You can catch him now on CBS sports college basketball show.

8. Curtis Terry. Yeah I know what your thinking this guy sucks. I believe I invented the nickname Curtis "i suck" Terry. But he has hit some huge shots in his career. Terry was a walk on who made the team and started at the end of his career. Yeah he is the younger brother of Jason Terry but he doesn't play like him. Curtis is a reason we went to sweet sixteen and his shot against SDSU to send it to overtime when he was a freshmen was huge. Maybe bigger then Vince Bookers 3-pointer against BYU at the buzzer. Might be a toss up!\

7. Danny Brotherson. I loved the way he would play. Brotherson was an athlete. He was all American in 3 sports in high school and his teams won titles in all of them. Brotherson played hard every time he stepped on the court. He wasn't the best shooter or re bounder but what white guy you know can dunk on a center? Danny was hardcore. He made a few mistakes but he was always fun to watch play. Not to mention his wife was nice to look at in the stands. Sorry Danny!

6. Kevin Kruger. The reason he is so far down the list is because he only played one season. Can you imagine if we had him for his whole career? It might have been something really special. Kruger ran the floor and always found the open man. He would play hurt. He would think of the team. He wasn't selfish and it was about the team not him. What a player he was. Kevin was probably the smartest point guard of the last 20 years. He knows the game so well. He was the main reason we finally got back to making runs in the tournament.

5. Louis Amundson. One of my favorites. Lou was a great player. He was just so raw when he came in as a skinny freshmen. He learned the game very well and did everything he could to transfer that into games. He was a fan favorite and terrible free throw shooter. Lou was a great inside presence and played hard all the time. Its too bad he got caught in that transition of coaches.

4. Marcus Banks. The guy would not let us lose. Marcus was allowed to do what ever he wanted but he played great when he had to. He would light you up for 30. He would drain a last second floater at the buzzer (RENO) and would play til the death like against New Mexico in the MWC tourney. He is high up on the scoring list for only paying two seasons. He was a lottery pick but doesn't do much in the L. Its sad becuase he might be the best lock down defender I've seen.

3.Anderson Hunt. One of five all- Americans who could shoot the rock from the out side and slam a fast break home. Hunt was the youngster of the group. Final Four MVP and well deserved when he dropped 29 on Duke in the final. Hunt would have been great in the NBA but he was in the era of your not suppose to leave early and five years later it was the thing to do.

2. Stacey Augmon. Plastic man. Everyone loved the quite forward that threw the ball off the backboard in a NCAA tournament game and slammed it home. Who does that. Augmon was so smooth. He was silky smooth. He would walk on air and hit the jumper. He played the longest out of anyone from UNLV in the NBA. What a player, I wish he would come back to coach one day.

1. LJ. enough said.

I have a few players I loved to watch play. So Honorable mention goes to Lou Kelley. He was such a pure shooter. If it wasn't for the injuries he would have had an amazing career. Wink Adams was good. He was a little selfish and bulked up too much his senior year, but a fan favorite. Jeramie Lewis was the poor mans Stacey Augmon. He would play with anyone. He never complained or cried about minutes, just did what he needed to do.

Dont hate Andre!

All this talk about Andre Agassi and his meth use. If you haven't read the story Rick Rielly wrote about it then you shouldn't have a comment. The guy was going through a tough time in his life and he used drugs. BIG FUCK'N DEAL. I'm sure most who have gone through a dark time have turned to some kind of vice. So there is no need to put this guy down. He's an honest guy and figured he would let people know about a life he has kept so private in the past.

He is one of the greatest tennis players who will ever play the game. Only one of two who have won every major. He won five of his eight majors after the meth use. He got his life on track and became a great man. Why would you look down at someone like him. The guy dropped out of Jr. high school, and now he is building schools and telling kids to get a good education. WHATS WRONG WITH THAT?

If anyone is having a problem with this. JEREMY SHAAP, you little pip squeek. You may need to re-think your opinion before someone like me catches you slipping. Andre is a great person and anyone who has kids should tell there kids to look up to this man. I will tell my nephews about how great he was on and off the court. So what if he lied about getting his drink spiked. How many times do you think this happened in the NFL and MLB, hell even the NBA with all those weed smokers. But we put an axe on this guys head because he was honest and the truth will set him free. So what!

This guy deserves all the praise in sports that anyone like Jackie Robinson, Arthur Ash and Gordie Howe have gotton. Martina Navratilova even said he should be treated like Roger Clemens. Really lady! Your dumb for saying that. Clemens lied to congress and it wasn't just once. Samething with Mr. Bonds. These people lied to authority, he lied to the ATP and they still through it out. They could have suspended him but they chose not to. Getting your drink spiked is just as stupid as doing the drug on your own. You put yourself in a dumb situation then its your own fault.

It isn't fair to look down on him and throw stones with more then half the country does drugs. Hell we have TV shows about it, and they have recovering addicts helping people but they cant even help themselves. So get over this issue and read the guys book before you judge his character.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

ITS HERE ITS HERE!!!

Its finally here the NBA season starts tonight and I wanted to give my 2 cents on what I think is going to happen in the league this year.

First thing is first don't give the Lakers the title just yet. I know they are the top team with Kobe, Gasol, and Lamar (Mr. Kardashian) all returning to the mix. They went out and got Ron Artest in the off season. Artest is a huge asset to the team that struggled a bit on the defensive end. I'm sure Phil can keep him under control and as long as he knows its Kobe's ball they should be fine. Artest really doesn't care about getting the ball too much he has played with the likes of T-Mac, Reggie Miller and Mike Bibby all of who demand the ball way more then he does. What does bother me about the team from Hollywood is they might be too Hollywood. Lamar is getting married and in the tabloids every day. Hes marrying into a family that is pretty crazy and on the TV more then the Girls Next Door. Kobe will be Kobe as usual and if Artest is in Hollywood there is bound to be some antics which could drag the team down. Key factor is Phil Jackson to keep them tight.

Second thing is I don't agree with this Orlando is the best team in the East. Jameer Nelson is returning point guard. He was hurt most of the playoffs and didn't help out very much. I think he cost the team a few wins. Skip-to-my-Loo was better and he shipped off to New Jeresy. Not something I would have done. Also Stan Van Jeremy, WHOOPS, I mean Gundy has a huge ego problem and I was surprise to see his players still make the finals after his dumb comments. Turkey Boy is gone to Toranto and why not they have a chance to win. NOT! They added Vince Carter who might start crying if SVG makes his absurd comments towards him. They will not make it back to the finals. They have a conference with Cleveland, Detroit, and Boston. Aint gonna happen WICK!

I think the Cavs come out of the East its Lebron's seventh season. If you all remember MJ won his first title in his seventh season. Its not going to be easy. Here's what you all see and say... Shaq isn't going to help, he's just going to hurt them. You think he hurt the Suns because they lost the run style and went to slow down ball. Well not the case in Cleveland. They already have that game. Zeek is slow as hell and Side Show Bob isn't any better. Shaq is a force in the middle and he will get D Howard out of the way of the King. Shaq played great the last two season with the Suns and if the Cavs give him days off like Phoenix did they will be in great shape come playoff time. WIN A RING FOR THE KING!!!

I got a few sleepers for you in the east this year. I like Detroit, Philly and Washington. Detroit added Ben Gordon a good leader to mix with Rip and T Prince. They also got Charlie Villanueva. He has never really lived up to his ability since coming from college but I think in this system he can develop. They get the cancer AI out of there and Rip is back to his normal spot. This could be a good chance to get back to the conference finals. Philly I like because they have the Real AI as in Andre Iguodala. He might be my favorite player in the NBA beside Sweet Lou. If Elton Brand can stay healthy and re -gain his forum from years past they might have a shot. They made the playoffs last year and he might add to that confidence. Last is Washington. Once again if their star is healthy they will be good. Gilbert is the key. If he can get back to his 2007 forum they will challenge Orlando for the top spot.

Jumping back to the WEST SIDE, I really like the Spurs. Even though it pains me to say this they have a good shot. Richard Jefferson added to a healthy Manu and Parker makes them the best contenders against the Lake Show. Team that will not surprise anyone is the Suns. Its all about Amare. If he is healthy they will be better then last year but its all about him. Dallas got some good defensive help by getting Shawn Marion who plays better in the west and the Run N Show, but I don't think they challenge the Spurs at all. Just a normal season for Dirk!

This is all I got today on my NBA preview. Check me out on twitter SIMSZEE14

SPORTS WORLD DRAMA!

Its been a crazy week so far in the sports world. We have the Phillies making it back to the World Series for the second year in a row. Theres your love Craig! There domination over the Dodgers was amazing and it looks like there pitching and offense is on point right now. The Yanks look to be on there way back to the WS for the first time since 2003 they haven't won since 2000. If the Yanks win today which they should it looks like an all east coast series. I like to see the Yanks win and AROD and those guys get a ring finally. Be pretty funny to see Johnny Damon get a ring with NY and Boston.

Whats going on down there at the University of Central Florida. Marcus Jordan wants to wear his dads NIKE's. Listen here Marcus, YOUR NOT MICHAEL! You will never be your dad. If you were even close you would be at North Carolina not UCF. You need to know your roll and put on the damn Adidas. If you lead the NCAA in scoring this season them maybe we can make an exception. UCF shouldn't be wondering what they should do. They signed the deal for six years. Why would you attend this school if they don't wear NIKES? Might want to think about these thing Marcus before you make your decisions. I'm guessing you didn't have much to choose from so this was it. Your brother is at a bigger school and hes a walk-on. I love your dad but come on just know your roll. PUT THE DAMN SHOES ON!

Sticking with the basketball subject. What the hell did Deshawn Stevenson do to his neck? The guy got a tattoo of a five dollar bill on his neck. That's like getting a geisha girl tattooed on your arm with the skull as a face. Not like you can see the Abe Lincoln anyway, Stevenson's beard is about as long as President Lincoln's was. Isn't this the guy who told Lebron to bring his A game? I believe they crushed you in the playoffs. Stevenson was accused of rape when he first came into the league with a very young girl. So i think this guy needs to take his crazy tattoos and terrible skills back to where he came from.

With the College basketball season right around the corner, my Rebels are going to be in the limelight all year long baby! This team is ready to make another run in the tournament and I smell Final Four soon. Ill give you a few names to watch . Derek Jasper, Chase Stanbeck, Justin Hawkins and Lindy's magazine said Las Vegas' own Anthony Marshall will likely to be the one wearing an NBA Jersey. If that's the case please pick me to be your agent!!!

I want to through a couple shout outs, To my LL! Any Joe thanks for the support and the great feed back on all these blogs. Also at my high school football, basketball and baseball teams that are all picked to win state titles.

That's whats on my mind!

Give a little respect!!!

Whats up everyone. I'm back in action this week. Its been a rough few weeks in the job world and I've been on the road every week hang'n with the Vegas crew and watch the damn Rebels lose. Anyway besides that whats up with these baseball playoffs. Have you all been watching? If you haven't your missing something special.

I watched all 13 inning of the Yankees and Angels game the other nite. I didn't miss one pitch. It was such an exciting game. Both these teams have played really hard this post season and I think its going to be an interesting series. The Yanks are up 2-0 heading to the west coast. This might get interesting with Angels being home but with MR. AROD coming alive I don't think this team can be beat.

Look at what this guy is doing in October. Hes got three homers, all have tied the games or put the team ahead for good. Hes hitting with runners in scoring position and that is dangerous. Not to mention his defense is on point right now. Hey if its because his new love interest, more power to him. If you watched that game you saw a controversial call at second base with Iybarr turning a double play. The umpire made the right call because he never touched the base. If you don't tag the runner or touch the base hes safe in my opinion or wait that's the actual rule. The announcers were saying that most of the time you will get that call and that didn't make sense to me. Why do you have a rule to touch the base and that would make the runner out. If your not touching the base and they are calling it out then why shouldn't the rule state you need to be in the area of the base. Doesn't make sense JOE BUCK. Maybe Artie Lange needs to put you in your place again. Mcarver the other announcer had the video crew check every other double play Iybarr threw in the game and he did touch every time. So we jump on umpires a lot for missing calls but this one was right and they jumped on him for no reason.

One last thing I want to get to before we end here today. A lot of us are in fantasy football leagues. Its fun to trash talk your boys and make fun of each other and stuff but when it becomes personal and you have to use the league and photos to get your point across because your a PUSSY to say it to there face. You should not be able to talk trash ever. Matter of fact your a BITCH. I will say this to your face too. But your beneath me and did me a huge favor so id rather say THANK YOU!

Here's the deal. Ive got plenty of friends. All my friends I have had a tiff with at sometime or another. We are boys we usually work through it. Everything get squashed and were cool again. See I'm tight enough with people where i not scare to say it to there face. They aren't scared to say it to mine either. So when you put up a middle finger to your opponent for the week and the guy knows its personal. You better rethink what your getting yourself into. I think its funny and this dumb ass lost by one pt too. Karma is a bitch man!!!!

Shout Outs to my boy Josh hang in there man its gonna all workout, i always have your back. I also want to say thanks to the pussy again for doing me a favor again. LIFE IS GOOD

That's whats on my mind!

WHAT A WEEK IN SPORTS!

This has been such a great week in sports. There have been so many great stories and games that if your a sports fan you love life. I like to look forward to these weeks because it gets me away from the confusion and chaos at my job! Pretty sure if it wasn't for sports id be a huge drunk and that's not a good thing. I love the fact that I can escape the crazy world and fall into this fantasy land to me and get away.

First thing is first, I loved the fact that I woke up Monday morning and read in the Las Vegas newspaper that Mike Sanford is on the HOT SEAT. The president who is brand new said he was concerned with the state of the program and was going to evaluate Sanford on a game by game basis. Guess what MIKEY BOY your next game is against the BYU cougars. This will be the only time I wish UNLV gets hammered. I want BYU to win. Yeah I said it. I want BYU to crush us. This would be for the state of the program and it needs a whole new direction. SANFORD FIRED is what I look forward to next monday.

Then you have my beloved Detroit Tigers. They had a 7 game lead in the AL central on September 6th. They lost a one game playoff to the Twinkies in one of the greatest baseball games I've ever seen. You cant touch the game 4 of the 2004 ALCS with the Red Sox but it was close. The Tigers had plenty of chances to take down the Twins but they couldn't pull it off. Still think Brandon Inge was hit by that pitch in the 12th. They are becoming the Mets of the AL. This is not a good thing we need these guys to get it together for the city.

Big news in sports today Michael Crabtree finally signed his deal. What took so long? I heard it was the same deal they've been offering you all along but now your 3 months behind everyone else. Good Job! They had to get MC Hammer and Neon Deion Sanders to help get the deal done. REALLY!!!! MC hammer! This guy is one of your advisors? He blew all his money and filed for bankruptcy. Hey Mike! Can I give you a word of advice, give me a call ill help you spend that $30 million.

Last thing I want to through out there is about the "KINGS RANSOM." If you didn't see this documentary on ESPN 30 in 30. It was unbelievable. It actually gives you an in site on how the biggest trade in sports history went down and why it was done. This is a great documentary to check out even if your not a Hockey fan. It gives you the background of what happens during trades and what we don't know and see. We just get the end of the whole situation. Shout out to Peter Berg what a great job you did!

Last thing is the MWC basketball poll came out putting my Rebels third in the league behind BYU and San Diego State. That's exactly where I like to see them. I don't like to have the pressure of winning the conference because then your disappointed if they don't. This team is going to surprise you. Shout out to Derek Jasper! He will be the player of the year in the MWC!

That's whats on my Mind!

MY RENO WEEKN!

This is going to get away from talking about sports a little bit but its going to be good for all of you to read. I want to inform you of what actually happens when you go to Reno, Nevada.

I went up there for the football game again this year, UNLV my team against there rival UNR. Yeah I know we got our ass waxed. Our coach is to blame and if he isn't fired by the end of the week we have problems in that athletic department. Now, I use to travel to Reno for the rivalry game every year when I was in school and it was great because we would actually win. Reno would play UNLV in Vegas and we would win there too and it was a great battle.

There is something about that crappy city that makes people ignorant. First off, its fine to talk smack to the other team like, "Your going to lose Vegas," or "We own you, vegas." These are normal comments expected. Do you know what I heard all weekend? "FUCK YOU," or "Fuck UNLV." I mean real intelligent. I'm guessing these are the people who come from some small town in the Midwest. All you can come up with is the word FUCK and a middle finger to go with it.

I tired to think back of when I actually told another fan fuck you because my team was kicking the shit out of their team. ...................................................................................................................I got nothing.

I may have said shit we played great that sucks for you, or just a little friendly smack talk and it was to people I actually knew and were friends with. I never walked by someone and flipped them off for wearing the opposite teams colors. We were walking to the car and this cute Blondie pulls up next to us. She was alone in her car. She rolls up to my friend Brett, rolls down the window and says, "Excuse me, FUCK UNLV." I was shocked it sunk to that level. I bet this girl never cussed in her life until she started to attend the University of Nevada at RENO. We were sitting about 5 rows up in the far corner of the end zone where the UNLV section was located. Every Reno fan that walked in front of the section threw up a middle finger and said fuck you. I was so shocked about the way I was treated but I guess its to be expected. Only my ex-girlfriend told me fuck you more then a reno fan did! She might have been one for all I know!

As far as the game goes it was close until the fourth quarter. I was sitting next to some students and young women who should not have had the clothes on that these girls did. Even the older and I mean older gentlemen to my right was like what is going on with what these girls are wearing. It was 55 degrees outside and windy. This girl had a t-shirt on as a dress and I'm about 90% there was nothing on under neath. My boy Troi will confirm this. If this was my daughter I would not be too happy with what she was wearing. I couldn't believe she left the house in that because it wasn't like she looked good. She was a little hefty and ill just leave it at that.

There were fans so intoxicated they didn't know what quarter it was in. One guy who will remain nameless was yelling at the referees in the third quarter because he thought it was overtime and they were conducting the overtime wrong. This guy was also drunker then George Jaekle after a Bonanza basketball win.

All in all the week'n was very interesting. I probably will never go to another UNR/UNLV football game again in Reno. I think their fans are very disrespectful and uneducated about the program. I guess the fans reflect the coach. Chris Ault basically told Mike Sanford "FUCK YOU" by running up the score on him. I would thank Ault for that though because you just got Sanford his walking papers. I guess there are two positives out of this weekend. UNLV will now be looking for a new head coach who will kick the shit out of UNR when they play and basketball is right around the corner and LON's guys would never be humiliated like this.

I want to give a shout out to the TCU player who had a huge block on sports center without his helmet. Also to all my boys who were with me in RENO what a great trip with you guys despite the white trash around us!

That's whats on my Mind!!!

The Time is Coming!

Its a battle between the Nevada Univerities top rivals UNLV and UNR. The Fremont cannon is on the line. This season for the Rebels, has been up and down. The highs of winning such a big game against the Warriors and the lows of losing a close one to Oregon State and another conference road loss to Wyoming.

I really think this is Mike Sanford's lucky time. There is no real AD in there to kick him out. Which he loves. The guy has lost 20 straight conference road games. You have got to be kidding me!!!!! Why is he still the coach can someone answer this question??????????????

We win the biggest game in football history in the last ten years last season on the road at ASU and then we lose on the road to Colorado State, who at the time lost 22 straight games. Being an alumni I'm sick of Mike Sanford. This season it looks like we can actually go to a bowl for the first time in 10 season and we can't even win on our home field. This is getting really ridiculous and I know everyone is tired of it.

How is this guy still around. What has he done for the program? Oh he won five games last year. Give me a frick'n break people. He SUCKS!!!! He's a guy who should never be the head coach.. When you hire someone and the alumni and fans ask WHO? You have made a mistake. Sanford was cut from the Urban Myer Cloth, was it the dirty part? The guy sucks. Everyone else from his coaching tree has made a name for themselves by winning bowl games and being ranked.

Sanford needs his walking papers now. There is some talent on this team and I would love to see them win the cannon this weekend but its not going to happen. UNR will win the cannon again because Sanford can't beat Ault. We should let John Robinson coach this game because he never lost to the Wolf pack and the cannon was always Red when he was coaching.

You should never go more then two season without losing the cannon. This guy has NEVER won it. We lost it the year he came in and havent seen it since. They don't get better players they have the same talent and they have tough teams in conference too, but they can win on the road. Where has this program gone since Sanford took over? In the damn ground!!!!!! I'm sick and tired of this shit and ready for a change. Why don't we try a new coach every game because that would work better!!!! I know pee wee coaches who can do a better job and have less talent!

SEE YA MIKEY!

Shout out to George Tarkanian who is now the coach of Bonanza High School!

That's whats on my Mind! Now its a headache!!!!

Athletes and there DOOs!

This is a funny topic to keep it light. What is with the athletes and there hair doos these days. Ive noticed that the dread locks in the NFL have picked up. An have you noticed its usually by position.? Like running backs defensive backs and wide receivers all have dreads. Your linemen usually are the country boys with mullets or shaved heads. Like Minnesota's Jared Allen. I mean I hope hes pulling chicks at the boat parties with that nasty doo.

In the NBA dread locks are out Allen Iverson and Rip Hamilton have shaved there heads in recent seasons to go with the shaved head looks. I think someone should bring back the high top fade like UNLV's Anderson Hunt has back in the early 90's.

In golf you don't see to many crazy hair cuts but i think it would be awesome to get some guys with a Mohawk or two out there. I like Charlie Hoffmans hulk hogan hair cut. That's about as good as golf gets. In hockey you don't see many mullets anymore. The hockey players should bring this back for the playoffs like the playoff beards.

Shout out some cool doos to me and let me know what you guys see. I always think its cool to see what is out there. Shoot me some topics too. Ive been slacking lately but ill bring it back soon. Little busy with a job that pays me lately!

PLAYERS SHOULD DECIDE GAMES!

I was in Vegas this week and decided to go see my team play against a very good Oregon State team. I think the Beavers are ranked in the top 25 this year. UNLV never has a good football team, I'm waiting for the coach to be fired and I don't know when they are going to get around to it. This was a great game thought. Rebels losing until the 3rd quarter when there back up quarterback Mike Clausen led them with two amazing drives to take the lead 21-20 with under two minutes to go.

Its was shaping up to look like the Rebels would be the Pac-10 killers the past few season with a win at ASU and Oregon St. The Beaver get the ball back on there 20 yard line. This is where it get disappointing. I'm sitting 50 yard line row one i can see everything. Shoot the picture will give you an idea.

rebs

Anyway Rebels get a huge sack on second down leaving the Beavers with 3rd down and 26 yards for a first down. They run the play once again the quarterback gets hammered by the Rebels linebacker, the ball goes into the air incomplete at the 30 yard line and the receiver was on the 50 yard line. About 3 second go by before a flag comes out. The referee called pass interference giving the ball to OSU with under a minute to go.

This is so dumb. First off there wasn't any way there could have been pass inference because they werent even near each other. The ball also was unreachable and the qb got hammered. So why would the ref do this to a team who fought back to win the game. Let the players play, to determine the outcome. Sure you can say they should have stopped them again but hey that call didn't need to be called. The Beavers went down and hit a field goal with seven seconds remaining.

For a team like UNLV to be losing 20-7 at half and come back with there starting qb on the bench was amazing. They deserved that game and it should have been theirs. Instead some dumb ref makes a bad call costing them the game possibly the season. It takes a lot to bounce back from that. Hopefully they will do it, but there is no guarantees.

HALL OF FAME FOR MJ!

I was watching some of the highlights of Michael Jordan's 23 greatest moments and it made me think. I was thinking about what a great player he was. I know hes the best but I would watch every game he played in on TV. He is that type of athlete. Hes one of those guys that when his game was on everyone was watching. Tiger Woods has this too. Every time they are playing the world is watching. I was thinking about some of Jordan's greatest moments to me.

I think one of my favorites is when he won the fourth championship and went into the locker room and cried about not having his father there to see it. What a moment in sports that is. He was so over come with emotion that his father had not been there for this championship it made this tough grown man cry.

That is one of my favorites. He came back from a two year retirement to play at the top of his game and win his fourth title what an amazing accomplishment.

Another favorite moment of mine is in the 1997 NBA finals when Jordan was extremely ill and went off on the Jazz on the road to help secure there fifth championship. Its amazing to watch how Scotty Pippen had to carry him off the court after the game.

The man played the game with such domination. You knew he wasn't going to let you lose. He is there to beat you and be the best. Jordan was cocky but not the type of T.O. cockiness its more of a classy cockiness that makes you respect him. He work ethic was better then any ones and it goes back to the day he was cut from his high school team

I think there will never be another Michael Jordan in my lifetime. I love Lebron but he has a long way to go before he can be like Mike. Jordan is that player that you just love to watch. Every game he played in was amazing. There are just players that make you say wow and he is one of them. There are not many players like this that is why we stop and watch every time they play. It amazes me that when i think back on how many times i watched the NBA when i was younger he was involved some way. He did a lot for the league and deserves his Hall of Fame introduction this Friday.

I want to say Thank you MJ!

FLASH BACK MARCH 2006

My March 2006 interview with Kurt Busch...

It was the last race of the season in 2004, every position he moved up made his chances better at winning a championship, if he were to slip back to far or get into an accident the championship would be gone in the snap of a finger. Kurt Busch just did what he does best and that’s drive. He stayed out of trouble and finished high enough ahead of Jimmie Johnson to win the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup title. Busch won the championship by eight points the closes points race in the history of NASCAR.

“It was a great accomplishment,” Busch said about winning to title in only his fourth full season of NASCAR.

It’s a pretty big accomplishment for a kid who grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city that didn’t have a racetrack until a hand full of years ago. The 27-year-old grew up on the southwest end of town attending Durango High School. He got his start in racing from his father Tom. A racer himself, Tom would take Kurt to the track while he raced, then as a youngster he put Kurt in go-carts when he was 14. It seems a little older than most to get his start in racing but it didn’t take long for Kurt to get going.

“I would go to the bull ring and watch my dad,” Busch said. “Then I guess I caught the racing bug after that.”

From go-carts Busch moved up to the Dwarf Cars. It wasn’t long before he won his first title. In 1994, he was named the Nevada State Dwarf Car Rookie-of-the-Year and won the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dwarf Car championship. The next season he won the Nevada State Dwarf Car title and another Speedway championship. A few years later Busch captured Legends Cars National Rookie-of-the-Year and the Western States championship. He did all this racing went to school and worked for the water district fixing main brakes.

“I got the job through a friend of mine I had in high school,” Busch said of his job at the water company. “I would fix main breaks in my bright orange uniform, it was a great job and I had a lot of fun with it.”

He was on the move in racing but in 1997 after graduating from Durango he decided to leave racing for college. Busch attended the University of Arizona in the fall of 1997 and was studying medicine.

While at college Busch couldn’t shake the racing bug and in 1998 returned to Las Vegas to pursue his dream of being a racecar driver. That year would be the year he broke through in racing. Busch captured the Rookie-of-the-Year again in the Southwest Series with one win and three top-five finishes.

“I stayed and raced here (Las Vegas) for awhile but then I went to Detroit to get my start in the bigger classes,” Busch said.

Las Vegas wasn’t the racing mecca in ‘98 like it is today. Kurt went on to the east coast to compete for a spot in one of NASCAR’s big time series. In 1999 he become the Southwest Series champion and was given a shot to drive in the Winston West race in Las Vegas where he finished eighth. This caught the eye of Jack Roush who gave Kurt a shot at competing for a seat in one of his NASCAR Craftsman Trucks. Roush was more than impressed with Busch and signed him to a multi-year contract.

Busch said it was one of the most exciting accomplishments of his young racing career but it was going to stop there. He would earn his fourth Rookie-of-the-Year title and came within a few points of winning the Truck Championship. This successful season prompted Roush to move Kurt right into the NASCAR Nextel Cup in 2001. Most drivers move from trucks to the Busch Series, which is like the triple A of NASCAR, but Kurt moved right to the top series.

“I was living the American dream with all this success,” Busch said about his move from trucks to the Nextel series. “For a guy this city it pretty amazing.”

In his first season, Busch had three top-five finishes and was second in the Rookie-of-the-Year voting. At first most veteran drivers thought of Busch as a reckless driver and most picked on him and bullied him for it, but in a series where guys think you should pay your dues first Kurt was becoming a star not to mention one of the best drivers in the circuit. Busch went on to have a breakthrough year in 2002. He racked up four wins, and nine top-five finishes and a total millions of dollars in winnings. That set up his 2004 championship run, where he won one race and finished better than sixth in the last ten races of the season known as “The Chase.” Its NASCAR’s version of the playoffs.

“Winning the championship changes things a lot,” Busch said. “You have a lot more pressure to win and win.”

Busch followed up his championship year with a solid 2005 campaign winning three races and racking up nine top-five finishes, 18 top-10 finishes and took tenth in “The Chase,” which pushed his career winnings to over $29 million. Kurt signed a huge multi-million dollar deal with team Penske in 2006 and will take over the number 2 Miller Lite Dodge car formerly driven by NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace.

“The transition has been pretty smooth,” Busch said from switching teams. “The people are great and I enjoy them.”

Its three races into the new year and Busch hasn’t had the start he expected but he loves to come home and race in Las Vegas with the fans.

“Vegas is always big race for me, its my home town and its as big as the Daytona 500 for me,” said Busch who finished 16th in the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “This race is very important to me I have a lot of friends at the track and I know everybody around there, its always fun to come back.”

Kurt didn’t get the finish he expect but his little brother Kyle had a great showing finishing third in the race. Kyle is seven years younger then Kurt and learned his skills from racing against his older brother.

“He seven years younger and we have had some battles growing up, but he can never keep up with me,” Busch said with a laugh. “He’s going to be a great racer in this series he just has a lot of pressure on him and he will get use to it.”

Busch also mentioned that Las Vegas is one of the most fan friendly tracks in the country and with the new renovation for 2007 it’s going to be even better.

“They are going to have a pit area where fans can see just about everything,” Busch said. “Your going to be able to see down into the garage and pit stalls. They are also going to change the banking from 12 degrees to 20 degrees, which will added about 10 to 15 miles per hour more to the car. Its going to be much faster and a lot of side-by-side racing.”

Despite all his success, Busch credits most of it to his Dad, who got him into racing. He still calls Las Vegas his home even though he resides in North Carolina close to the teams shop. Busch still gives back to the Las Vegas community all the time, he works with many different organizations like Water Works Industry Solutions and local youth sports programs.

MICHAEL CRABBBBBYYYTREE

What is this guy thinking? He says he is prepared to sit out the entire NFL season because he deserves money like a first five picks. You cant be that selfish. I know you want the guaranteed contract which everyone tries to get in the NFL. I think the NFL needs to get a hold of this. Why do these guys think they should be given this cash? You haven't proven anything yet. The guaranteed money protects you if you get hurt. I know this. But for guys like this $5 million guaranteed is just as good. These guys have never seen a $1 million, so why do they need $23 million.

You give a guy $21 million like Andre Smith who held out all pre-season and now has a broken his foot. The Bungles waited all this time to get him into camp and now he is hurt. This just puts him back more and could affect his chances of playing this year.

These guys don't need all this money up front. The NFL needs to have smaller rookie contracts for there players. That way these guys get into camp on time. They don't hold out and you have to develop them the right way. Crabtree is just hurting himself. He is now going to be considered a baby and a whiner by his teammates. What about the guys struggling to make the team. They are there and ready to go. You never know who could take your spot.

Crabtree needs to find better advisers and better people around him. These rookies need to prove it on the field first. You should never get that much money for not even playing a game. The NBA does this with there players, you don't hear about hold outs with them. Also, if your the 10th pick in the draft. You get paid 10th pick money. You cant have say I should have been a top 5 pick so I should get that money. You think Dwade was pissed he didn't go higher? I'm sure, but he didn't complain, he did what he had to do to prove himself and got a contract when they felt he deserved it. OH! Hes the only one with a championship ring from that draft.

So my advice to these cry babies like Crabtree is get out there prove yourself. If you have what it takes it will benefit you and you can have as much money as you want. Your going to make more then anyone in your family has ever!

That's what's on my mind!

RIGHT TO TIME TO SAY GOODBYE!

If any of you watched the UFC this weekend you saw a man 46 years old handle himself pretty well. Randy Couture looked like a man who was well trained, in great shape and ready to fight a man 13 years younger. Couture lost the three round match in a unanimous decision. Is this his time to say goodbye? He looked all of 46 in his last fight again UFC champ Brock Lesner.

Photobucket

Couture has signed a six fight deal with the UFC where he says he wants to stay and end his career. Why isn't he retiring now? He's taken a lot of punishment and is a good commentator for the sport. Its his time to say good bye. I give the man credit he did a great job this past weekend. But that doesn't last for long. Look at Chuck Liddell, he lost four of his last five bouts and no one wanted to see Chuck go out like that not even Dana White.

They always say its not how old you are its how old you feel. Well Randy if your feeling 30 great! I just don't see what you have left to prove. You are a legend in this sport. You should take you leave and walk out now, while everyone still respects you and not when its too late. Michael Jordan was a fat jump shooter for the Wizards and they had to drag him off the floor. (Thanks Bill Mahr.) Mike Tyson was out of shape and washed up and was punished in his last two fights.

Randy might be getting a little more credit from me if he didn't waste almost a year and a half fighting with White over his contract. In that time the sport developed some huge heavy weights, and now with the Ultimate Figther heavyweights show is about to premier, what is he going to do with this new crop? He cant even move down to 205. You have Machita the champ! Rashad Evans, Quinton Jackson, Forest Griffin, and a guy who is the 185 champ Anderson Silva. All those guys would get the best of Couture. Not in his prime but today is different.

White said Couture could pick his fights because he has earned the right and is a master. But seriously I don't want to see Randy laid out on his back twitching like he was hit by a MAC TRUCK. Its time to walk away buddy. We love you. Everyone loves you. We don't want to see you get hurt or worse. You cant use the juice. Randy is reminding me of some girls who just cant seem to act their age. Your 30, stop try'n to look 22! Act your age! Randy its okay, we are still going to watch you on the telecasts. Maybe Dana could let you be the commissioner or something. I think in the back of his mind he doesn't want to see you leave either but it sometimes walking away at the right time gives you a special place in History. If you leave too late you end up hurting your legacy.

That's what's on my mind!

LET FLOYD BE FLOYD!

If your not watching the 24/7 Mayweather and the other guy. I say that because no one watches this show to see the other fighter. They want to see Floyd and all his crazy antics. Mayweather is coming out of his short one year retirement to fight Juan Manuel Marquez. Some say this is a tune up fight for Floyd to fight Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

Mayweather is the best boxer pound for pound and if you think otherwise he is going to show you next year when he does fight the "Pacman." What I do want to talk about is... everyone needs to get off his back. Why do you have to associate this gun thing with him? His car was in the parking lot and someone apparently sent him a text that he hopes he loses. So we assume he was involved. Do you know how many people say they wish he would lose? If he tried to shoot all of them he would be a very busy man. If the cops say he has nothing to do with it then he's got nothing to do with it. Innocent til proven guilty. Just because he is cocky doesn't mean hes a thug.

Ive run into Floyd a few times around Vegas. He runs with his entourage and if you don't bother them they aren't going to bother you. He did have about $7 million in jewelry stolen from his home. They say it one of the biggest burglary heists in Nevada history. That isn't chump change either, so why not have guns to protect yourself. He also has a huge security staff like there not going to have guns to protect him. This isn't the Plexico case, Mayweather isn't caring the weapon around himself and shooting people.

This is a ploy by some guy to try and get money out of Floyd one way or another. I like Floyd. I think he is all boxing has. When he fights Pacman, its going to be one of the biggest fights ever in history and a lot of people are going to get paid. All this controversy is just an act if you ask me. When has there ever been a Mayweather bout without some kind tiff. Whether its his domestic dispute with his kids mother. His on again off again feud with his Dad. Which is back on again. Or even his uncle Roger being accused of choking some women. Like Floyd said on the show. Its Rogers business he doesn't know about it and it not right for the women or the man to put hands on each other. Floyd said he wants to be positive and focus on this fight.

Mayweather has a lot to lose. He never wants to lose and if he does a lot of people are going to through it in his face. That is his motivation. That is why he is so good. He wants to fight anyone you think he cant beat. He knocked out Hatton, Juddah, and De La Hoya. I think his resume speaks for it self. You have to remember boxing isn't like the UFC. There isn't a guy ready to take your belt every step of the way. But the way Floyd fights he wont back down from anyone.

Give the guy some credit. He may be cocky, and arrogant but its him and if boxing didn't have him, I would never watch and neither would any of you.

That's whats on my Mind!

COME ON YOUR NOT THAT STUPID!

Plexico, Plexico, Plexico...

Did any of you watch this interview? Athletes wonder why they get a bad rap for being dumb. Plexico Burress was a hero in the Superbowl just over a year ago. He caught a touchdown, got a ring and a new $40 million dollar contract.

The guy goes into the club with a loaded gun and shoots himself in the leg. REALLY! So you don't know the New York law about guns and you live there? REALLY! You walk up a few steps and trip and the gun slides down your pants and goes off? REALLY!

Does this make any sense to anyone. You should have just stayed quite. There is no way anyone is giving you sympathy now. The interview with Jeremy Shaap on E:60 was not worth it. Plexico looked dumb and uneducated.

He claims one of his teammates was robbed at gun point so he started to carry the gun. He picked one of his friends up from the same neighborhood his teammate was robbed in and didn't feel safe. These are not the back streets of Compton. This is a very nice neighborhood in NYC. He tells Jeremy Shaap that if he didn't have to pick up his friend he wouldn't have had the gun.

Okay, so why not put the gun in the glove box when you go into the club? Plexico your looking dumb here. As I'm watching this I'm thinking... this guy was educated at Michigan State. I really wanted to attend State when I was younger. Shoot! A lot of my cousins went there. They alumni must be going crazy watching this.

As the interview goes on he talked about walking in the club. They searched him and from what he says the guards new he had a gun. What the hell do you search people for if your not looking for weapons? I'm not going into a club that lets people in with weapons. That's just stupid. After he gets by security, he is walked up to the VIP room with his teammate Antonio Pierce. Plexico says he missed a step and the gun slipped down his pant leg. Do you not know how to walk? Then he said he grab the gun on the trigger and that is when it shot him in the leg. What the hell are you thinking? He said he didn't realize he was shot until he looks down at his Chuck Taylor shoe and the white rubber is covered in red. So he knows hes bleeding.

Let me get this straight you get in the club with a gun, the gun you had because you felt unsafe in a neighborhood your buddy lives in. You trip walking up the stairs and shoot yourself in the leg. But you didn't know you were shot until you saw the blood on your shoe. Then all you can think of is your family and if your going to die.

Why didn't you have a holster? Why didn't you leave it in the car after you left the scary neighborhood? Why do you even need a gun.? Your a damn football player! Plexico made himself look like a real idiot when he did this. You not only could have killed yourself, you could have killed someone else for being stupid. And to top it all off you don't know the New York law on weapons. Its your own damn fault.

If I'm an athlete! I'm at my huge house with my good friends partying every night, if that's what you want to do. Why do you need to go out? People see you on TV all the time. Who cares. Make your cash and relax. But Plex couldn't do that.

Now the guy has to go to jail for two years. He pretty much ruined his career and may never get a chance to play again in the NFL. What are you thinking when this goes down? He says he lucky. Yeah you are. But you could have stopped it. Your that big of a wuss you need a gun? Ill never understand it. These guys always have to learn the hard way and its just getting old.

I say the league just starts banning these guys for ever.

That's what is on my Mind!
