I was watching some of the highlights of Michael Jordan's 23 greatest moments and it made me think. I was thinking about what a great player he was. I know hes the best but I would watch every game he played in on TV. He is that type of athlete. Hes one of those guys that when his game was on everyone was watching. Tiger Woods has this too. Every time they are playing the world is watching. I was thinking about some of Jordan's greatest moments to me.
I think one of my favorites is when he won the fourth championship and went into the locker room and cried about not having his father there to see it. What a moment in sports that is. He was so over come with emotion that his father had not been there for this championship it made this tough grown man cry.
That is one of my favorites. He came back from a two year retirement to play at the top of his game and win his fourth title what an amazing accomplishment.
Another favorite moment of mine is in the 1997 NBA finals when Jordan was extremely ill and went off on the Jazz on the road to help secure there fifth championship. Its amazing to watch how Scotty Pippen had to carry him off the court after the game.
The man played the game with such domination. You knew he wasn't going to let you lose. He is there to beat you and be the best. Jordan was cocky but not the type of T.O. cockiness its more of a classy cockiness that makes you respect him. He work ethic was better then any ones and it goes back to the day he was cut from his high school team
I think there will never be another Michael Jordan in my lifetime. I love Lebron but he has a long way to go before he can be like Mike. Jordan is that player that you just love to watch. Every game he played in was amazing. There are just players that make you say wow and he is one of them. There are not many players like this that is why we stop and watch every time they play. It amazes me that when i think back on how many times i watched the NBA when i was younger he was involved some way. He did a lot for the league and deserves his Hall of Fame introduction this Friday.
I want to say Thank you MJ!

When I come back like Jordan, wearing the 4-5, it ain't to play games wit you, it's to aim at you, probablly maim you, or blow you to smitherin's!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should do an article on Jordan's horrendous Tipping and mistreatment of staff and getting people fired just for asking for his autograph.
ReplyDeleteMJ was/is the man! The guy is probably better today at 40+yrs, than half the people in the league. Ty Cobb said it best in his later years when a reporter asked him what his batting avg would be against modern pitchers (then it was like the 1960's and Cobb was like in his mid 60's). Cobb looked the reporter dead in the eye and said, "I hit probably 310 or 315". Reporter goes, "but mr. Cobb your lifetime batting avg. Is 340, do you think modern pitchers are that much better? Cobb goes, "No!" "Its cause I'm 65 fucking years old, that's why!" You've got to love the spirit of these guys. They would play their entire life if their body would let them.
